The Interior Design Process Explained

  • An initial meeting/chat

The first stage in the design process is to discuss the potential project with you with an informal chat. This may be a phone call, a meeting at your home or at our Weybridge design studio. This will generate accurate information to produce a design fee quotation for the work required. You are always welcome to pop in and discuss your project with us!

  • The Design Fee

After the project brief is established, a design fee is produced. This is a fixed fee based on the design work required and does not increase if the design process takes longer than anticipated. We always revise designs until you are completely satisfied with the details, and believe that it is our responsibility to achieve the right design for you, therefore no further fees apply for taking extra time to produce the right result.

  • The Design Work

Upon acceptance of the fee, the design for the project is produced. In order to convey ideas, mood boards, samples, imagery, computer 3D visuals and floor plans are all presented to understand the design intent. There is no limit of the use of these tools for a project and meetings repeat until the perfect design is finalised for you. Once the design is agreed in principle, a quotation is produced for all items and tradesmen required to complete the design.

  • Completing The Design

Timescales will be discussed to ensure the process fits within your life commitments. Upon quotation agreement, a stage payment is required to book in trades and order all items. Trusted tradesmen are managed by us and items are collated in our warehouse. If structural work is taking place, regular site visits ensure the design is being adhered to. Once all items have arrived to us, a balance invoice is paid and the installation is booked in. Everything is unpacked, installed and checked that it is as expected and in perfect condition.
