Christmas Decor

We are so happy to be back in the studio this week and with our Christmas decorations up it is really getting us in the festive spirit! 2020 has been a strange year for everyone and while we are still adapting to the new normal its nice to see the familiar decorations up and the warm glow of the fairy lights!

November has been the new December this year, people have started to put up decorations earlier than ever and I really cant blame them, why not!

A Christmas corner can create a lovey focal point, Instead of having your tree stand alone, integrate your Christmas tree in to the corner of the room by decorating the wall behind it and the ceiling above as well as the tree to make a stunning Christmas corner and a real focal point of your celebrations. If you are decorating the bannister of a staircase, leave the walls bare so that the ones on the stairs really stand out. And proportion is key. Decorations need to work for the space they are in just as a sofa or chair needs to be in proportion for the room’s decor too.

In all the excitement about the tree, don’t forget to think about a Christmas wreath as well. Overload the wreath with sparkle and dazzle to create a luxurious accessory for your front door. Think of colours that will pop against your door colour and even add texture through different surfaces such as matt and shiny. Finishing touches of a luxurious silk ribbon bow will showcase any wreath and be the talking point with your neighbours!

As soon as the words ‘classic Christmas’ pop up, the immediate colour that comes to mind is red. The great thing with this theme is that you can go either modern or traditional with it as there is so much selection for every taste and style. Why not add a little tartan or tweed for an extra bit of interest? Try to keep to a soft finish to compliment rather than clash. If you prefer a more ‘modern’/clean look why not go Scandinavian. Red and white are so crisp and clean, and give an instant Christmas look.

The fabrics below are also such a lovely way to incorporate a Christmas touch, the fabrics can be used for sofa scatter cushions.

Decorations aren't just for Christmas. Furry throws can be added to sofas to bring a cosy feel that’s perfect when winding down to watch a Christmas movie.

Last year we took on a project where we decorated our clients house for Christmas, it was a lovely project where the outcome was a super luxurious festive decor. From garlands wrapped around the staircase to beautifully decorated Christmas trees. The outcome was stylish with a mix of traditional elements. We absolutely loved this project!
